Health Industry Hub | July 2, 2024 |

People & Culture: Eli Lilly Australia and New Zealand has earned a coveted spot as a finalist in the ‘Employer of Choice (100-999 employees)’ category at the prestigious Australian HR Awards. Joining them in the spotlight, Viatris has been recognised as a finalist for the Australian HR Team of The Year (<1000 Employees), while Edwards Lifesciences stands out with nominations for the Australian HR Team of The Year (<1000 Employees) and for their exceptional Health and Wellbeing Program, as well as their Reward & Recognition Program.

Speaking of the recognition for the fourth consecutive year, Jamie Preston, Associate Vice President, Human Resources for Lilly ANZ and North Asia-Pacific said, “We are thrilled to be recognised as an Employer of Choice Excellence Awardee. Throughout the past 12 months, the Lilly ANZ HR team has reinforced the company’s heritage and values, while preparing for a new chapter of medical innovation and rapid business growth.”

On the eve of its 150th anniversary, including 65 years of operations in Australia, Lilly is entering a new era of growth driven by a world-leading pipeline.

“It is this balance of honouring the past, while building for the future that has guided our HR initiatives and has made Lilly ANZ one of the best organisations for which to work,” Preston added.

The gender pay gaps of nearly 5,000 private sector employers was published for the first time in February.

Strong and sustained support for female talent, as evidenced in Lilly’s gender pay gap score of -1.5% placing the company within the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) target rate of -5%/+5%.

Monica Passfield, Viatris HR Manager ANZ, stated “This accolade reflects the team’s exceptional dedication to supporting our business and its people daily. Congratulations to our entire team on this well deserved recognition. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.”

Samantha Alkin, Director Human Resources ANZ, Edwards Lifesciences told Health Industry Hub in a recent interview, “It’s so much more of a priority for us and our strategy – to make sure our employees are looking after their minds and their bodies, so that they not only give their best back to work, but also their families as well.

“Leading at the Speed of Trust teaches our leaders a lot about what’s important to our employees and how easy it is to build trust, but even how easier it is to lose trust within your teams.”

Alongside an inclusive workplace and meaningful development opportunities, Lilly ANZ is investing in its employees through industry-leading salaries, rewards and benefits at every stage of their lives and careers.

“We continue to ensure competitiveness with our compensation and benefits programs by conducting internal and external market reviews along with ensuring we reflect on the evolving future needs of our people,” Preston explained.

Winners will be selected from the Excellence Awardees at the in-person gala on Friday, 13 September 2024 at the Fullerton Hotel Sydney.
