Takeda recognised as Top Employer with the most consecutive wins in the pharma sector

Health Industry Hub | January 20, 2023 |

Human Resources: Takeda has been recognised as a Top Employer in Australia by the Top Employers Institute again for 2023. For seven consecutive years, this recognition is the most consecutive annual Top Employer recognition of any life sciences company in Australia.

Takeda’s General Manager for the Oceania Cluster, Dave Pearce, said he felt the friendliness and sense of purpose to support patients, immediately after joining the Australian office last year.

“It’s no surprise to me that Takeda Australia has received this honour seven years in a row. From my first day here in June 2022, I felt a lovely vibe about the people and the workplace. I was blown away by the diversity and the strength that brings to our business, with 29 languages spoken amongst 110 staff,” said Dave.

Takeda’s Head of Human Resources Oceania Cluster, Jenn Jones said recent initiatives like the launch of the Diversity , Equity and Inclusion Council in January 2023, with four supporting pillars LGBTI, Neurodiversity, First Nations and SpeakUp , demonstrate s employees are heard and empowered to take action.

“We’re creating an inclusive organisation where everyone feels relevant and part of a shared goal. Organisations with diversity, and diverse thinking, are greater than the sum of their parts,” said
Jenn.

“We see that in how we’re reimagining and cocreating our revamped Sydney CBD office space which will be even more amazing when it’s completed mid this year,” added Jenn

“And it’s the seemingly small things too. Like sharing a moment when the ice cream trolley rolls around the office, or fabulous team walks around our neighbouring Sydney harbour foreshore. Wellness and wellbeing are part and parcel of who we are and what we do.

Takeda was one of only 15 companies to achieve global Top Employer certification for 2023. In addition to the global certification, Takeda is also recognised as a Top Employer across 22 countries, strengthening its commitment to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment and an exceptional employee experience.
