Sanofi and AbbVie invest in modern, collaborative workspaces in Sydney CBD

Sanofi has officially welcomed employees to its new headquarters for Australia and New Zealand at International Towers, Barangaroo, marking the first day of operations in the Sydney Harbour precinct.

The space, designed with sustainability and contemporary work styles in mind, mirrors Sanofi’s shift into an AI-driven, innovation-focused biopharmaceutical company, while highlighting its commitment to Australia as a strategic hub in the Asia-Pacific.

Liz Selby, Country Lead and Head of Pharma Australia & New Zealand, said “Today marks an exciting milestone for Sanofi Australia and New Zealand. Our new headquarters is designed to bring people together in ways that spark innovation, strengthen collaboration, and ultimately help us chase the miracles of science for the patients who depend on us. This space reflects who we are as a company – agile, connected, and focused on the future.”

Mike Zhang, General Manager Vaccines for Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea, added “Walking into our new space today, you can feel the energy and possibility. This is where we’ll collaborate on breakthrough preventions and treatments, support healthcare professionals, and work together to make a real difference for Australian and New Zealand patients. In a complementary expansion, Sanofi confirmed that its Queensland-based Translational Science Hub will relocate to the Translational Research Institute’s new ENTRI biomanufacturing facility in Brisbane in 2026.

Meanwhile, AbbVie is set to relocate its Sydney office to 321 Kent Street in the heart of the Sydney CBD in Q4 2026. This new, central location reflects AbbVie’s ongoing commitment to building a great workplace where employees can pursue career growth, engage in meaningful collaboration, and thrive in a vibrant urban setting.

This relocation represents far more than a simple change of address. It’s a strategic investment in AbbVie’s culture, bringing its Therapeutics and Aesthetics teams together under one roof for the first time. With Therapeutics based in Mascot since 2014 and Aesthetics in North Sydney since 2021, uniting in the CBD will combine the company’s diverse expertise and create a collaborative environment where innovation and cross-functional teamwork can thrive.
