Health Industry Hub | April 17, 2024 |

AbbVie has appointed a new Human Resources Director for Australia and New Zealand. Ally Jonas assumed the role earlier this month and is reporting to Katy Olivera, Head of Business Human Resources for the Intercontinental Region.

Nathalie McNeil, VP and General Manager of AbbVie ANZ, expressed her enthusiasm for Ally’s appointment stating, “I’m thrilled to welcome Ally to the AbbVie ANZ team. Her leadership, strategic agility, people orientation and drive for always raising the bar is the perfect fit for the next chapter of our
organisation.”

Ally joins AbbVie following a long career in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Ally’s
most recent role was at Reckitt Benckiser for 5 years where she held the role of HR Director, ANZ where she delivered “countless initiatives we deployed across the ANZ business which resulted in driving down employee turnover, increasing employee engagement, and truly bringing the meaning of ‘Care’ into our business.” Ally has also held senior leadership roles at Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson and Baxter Healthcare.

Reflecting on her decision to join AbbVie, Ally remarked “AbbVie’s reputation as a company with an incredible culture has always been an envy of the industry. To achieve and be recognised as a Great Place to Work ten years in a row is no mean feat.”

AbbVie also secured a coveted spot on the Great Places to Work Best Workplaces for Women List for 2023.

“Being recognised as one of the best workplaces for women is not just an award; it’s a validation of our commitment to creating an inclusive and empowering environment for all our employees,” Ms McNeil said on the company’s recognition.

“I’m excited to be part of a company that is deeply committed to its people,” Ally added.
