Roche Children’s Walk marks 20 years of spreading hope for children in need

Health Industry Hub | June 14, 2023 |

Pharma News: Roche Australia announced the momentous 20th anniversary of the Roche Children’s Walk, a remarkable milestone that highlights two decades of unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children in need.

Established in 2003, the Roche Children’s Walk has become our largest employee-driven fundraising event, bringing together employees from around the globe to support projects through the legally independent global charity, Roche Employee Action and Charity Trust (Re&Act), as well as local initiatives. In Australia, the event supports Camp Quality, an esteemed Australian children’s cancer charity that has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for kids facing cancer for 40 years.

“We are immensely proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Roche Children’s Walk,” said Stuart Knight, General Manager of Roche Products Australia. “This milestone reflects our enduring dedication to making a positive difference in building healthier communities. We are grateful to Camp Quality for partnering with us on this important initiative.”

The significance of this event is not lost on the community, with Deborah Thomas, CEO of Camp Quality, stating, “Camp Quality is proud to be a part of this meaningful event with Roche Australia, advocating for the well-being, optimism, and resilience of kids facing cancer and their families across Australia. With each stride, we are raising awareness of the devastating impact of cancer on families and helping provide fun experiences, a supportive community, cancer education, and respite at every step of the cancer journey.”

Over the years, the Roche Children’s Walk has evolved into one of the most impactful, employee-driven charitable initiatives across Roche globally. It has united communities, organisations, and individuals, rallying their support to raise funds and awareness for children’s health and well-being. Each year, the event garners tremendous participation, touching the lives of countless children and their families.

Roche Australia expresses deep gratitude for the ongoing support and participation of its employees, partners, and the community at large. Their contributions and generosity have played a pivotal role in the success of the Children’s Walk, enabling Roche Australia to make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless children.

“Together with our partners and supporters, we have made a tangible difference in the health and well-being of countless children. As we commemorate this milestone, we recommit ourselves to our mission of empowering children, inspiring hope, and creating a brighter future for generations to come,” said Allison Rossiter, Managing Director of Roche Diagnostics.

As the Roche Children’s Walk celebrates its 20th anniversary, it serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the positive impact that can be achieved when communities come together to support those in need.
