MedAdvisor first to automate claiming for 6CPA programs

Health Industry Hub | August 14, 2019 |

MedAdvisor, Australia’s leading digital medication management company, is pleased to announce it has now integrated with the Pharmacy Programs Administrator Claiming Portal to enable automatic claiming for 6CPA programs through the PlusOne platform.

Robert Read, CEO of MedAdvisor, says, “Automatic claiming for 6CPA programs has been highly anticipated across community pharmacies and we are proud to be the first provider to enable this for our network. We’d like to thank the Pharmacy Programs Administrator (PPA) for the significant Portal development work they’ve undertaken to enable software providers to integrate in this way.”

“At MedAdvisor our goal is to make medication more manageable for patients, and pharmacists play such an important role in helping to achieve this. As such, we are continuously improving PlusOne to make it the fastest and most intuitive platform so pharmacists can deliver more of these important services to their community. Over 1 million services have been delivered and recorded in PlusOne in 2019 already, more than double the amount compared to the same period last year.”

Automatic claiming for MedsChecks and Diabetes MedsChecks services will be progressively activated across all MedAdvisor network pharmacies over the next few weeks. Other 6CPA programs and Health Outcomes Data entry will be enabled for automatic claiming as soon as they become available.

Chay Boss-Walker, Director of the PPA, says “We thank MedAdvisor for their collaboration and congratulate them for bringing automatic claiming of MedsCheck and Diabetes Medscheck to market in such a short amount of time. We look forward to working with them to enable automatic claiming of other 6CPA Programs in future. We’re very pleased that pharmacies will have this claiming option available to them.”

Carolyn Clementson, community pharmacist, says “6CPA programs deliver significant benefit to patients and are an important revenue stream for pharmacies. We are very excited about this new capability in PlusOne which will significantly reduce the administrative burden for pharmacists, so we can spend more time engaging with patients.”

MedAdvisor’s platform removes the manual work of submitting via the PPA Portal. Pharmacists need only to complete the once off registration process and the system will automatically take care of the rest.
