‘It needs to be an extreme evolution to reinvent healthcare for the next 15-20 years’, says Viatris Country Manager ahead of World Health Day

Pharma News: The theme for World Health Day 2023 on 7 April 2023 is ‘Health For All’. Sylvain Vigneault, Country Manager, Viatris Australia joined Health Industry Hub to reflect on his personal passion in inspiring meaningful change to empower people in living healthier at every stage of life.

While the overall health status of Australians is higher than the OECD average, we still see key challenges including a fragmented health services model, delays in funding of novel therapies, siloed data streams across different levels of healthcare and state governments, and an ever-evolving regulatory ecosystem. Mr Vigneault highlighted the key barriers to change and how stakeholders need to shift to unlock a more sustainable and equitable healthcare system.

Finally, Mr Vigneault highlighted the role of government and policy makers in driving new funding models and innovative models of care to advance a future-fit healthcare system.
