From manufacturing to boardroom, Viatris secures Great Place to Work across ANZ

Viatris has secured certification as a Great Place to Work in both Australia and New Zealand – a first for Australia and a second consecutive year for New Zealand.

In New Zealand, 94% of employees agreed that “Viatris is a Great Place to Work,” marking a 6% increase from 2024. In Australia, across diverse workforces in commercial and operations functions, 76% agreed with the statement, compared to 60% in typical Australian companies.

Research from Great Place to Work emphasises that “trust, fairness, and flexibility” as pillars of workplace culture yield transformative outcomes. These principles are foundational in fostering an environment where “employees feel secure, valued, and motivated” to excel.

Sylvain Vigneault, Country Manager of Viatris in Australia and Head of Commercial ANZ, said “While the topline figures are a great result, even more pleasing were the reasons many people gave for considering Viatris a Great Place to Work.”

He continued, “In addition to positive feedback on policies such as additional leave, wellbeing programs and access to training and leadership development, the responses regarding pride in the company’s purpose and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, our supportive culture, trust in leadership, a great social culture and work/life balance were significant across all our workplaces.”

Sean Stewart, Viatris Country Manager in New Zealand, echoed this sentiment stating, “We strive to provide a great culture where everyone feels both included and that they’re making meaningful contributions, so to see an improvement from last year’s fantastic results is testament to the entire New Zealand team.”

Mike McGuire, Head of Site Operations, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, particularly from the operations team working at manufacturing plants and distribution centres.

He remarked, “I was particularly pleased that among our team, feeling welcomed and the site being seen as a physically safe environment ranked highly.”
