First hospital partnership paves the way for digital health agenda

Health Industry Hub | November 28, 2024 |

A Melbourne hospital is the first to take bold step towards advancing digital healthcare by partnering with a leading digital health commercialisation company. The collaboration positions the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) at the forefront of adopting innovative connected health solutions, ensuring its technologies evolve alongside the needs of clinicians and patients.

The partnership creates a two-way exchange of insights: ANDHealth gains invaluable feedback from frontline clinicians, while RMH benefits from independent expert advice on emerging technologies. This ensures RMH continues to lead in delivering cutting-edge, patient-centered care.

In a significant milestone, RMH becomes the first hospital system to join ANDHealth as a core partner, aligning itself with a prestigious group that includes RMIT University, Telstra Health, Planet Innovation, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), Curve Tomorrow, HPM Executive, and HLTH-Community.

Professor Shelley Dolan, Chief Executive at RMH, highlighted the importance of the partnership in fostering innovation.

“As a major trauma hospital, we are constantly looking to innovate and develop resources for our staff and patients,” Professor Dolan said.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with ANDHealth, who reflect the growing importance of the digital agenda in improving equity of access to excellent healthcare.

“ANDHealth’s role as our ‘Innovation Partner’ ensures we will have access to pre-qualified, cutting-edge solutions, while allowing us to focus on what we do best – delivering exceptional care.”

ANDHealth’s extensive network spans more than 970 digital and connected healthcare companies, as well as international partners. They provide a comprehensive perspective on the latest technological advancements while supporting innovators through non-dilutive grant funding and mentoring programs, including initiatives funded by the Medical Research Future Fund.

Bronwyn Le Grice, Chief Executive Officer of ANDHealth, commended RMH’s forward-thinking approach to modernising healthcare.

“The potential for digital and connected healthcare solutions to drive better patient outcomes and improve productivity and efficiency has been spoken about for some time,” Le Grice said.

“By partnering with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we can accelerate the translation of cutting-edge technologies to the frontline of care delivery and transform potential into reality.”
