Australian digital company acquired by Japanese multinational

Digital & Innovation: In a strategic move to fortify its management, technology, and cybersecurity capabilities within the healthcare and public sector in Australia, the Japanese multinational, Fujitsu, has unveiled its plans to acquire Australian digital transformation (DX) company, MF & Associates.

Founded in 2019, Canberra-based MF & Associates marks Fujitsu’s fifth acquisition since 2021 in the ANZ region, as part of a strategic global M&A plan to strengthen business delivery capabilities in key areas. MF & Associates will complement Fujitsu’s recent acquisitions of Microsoft specialist oobe and cybersecurity firm InPhySec to bolster Fujitsu’s security offerings in Australia.

Under this new arrangement, MF & Associates is slated to operate as a standalone entity within the Fujitsu portfolio, maintaining its unique identity and retaining all of its team members. The firm will be rebranded as ‘MF&A, a Fujitsu company,’ signaling a seamless integration within the Fujitsu ecosystem while affirming its heritage and autonomy. Mat Franklin, the current Managing Director, will continue to lead MF&A, reporting directly to Stuart Kilduff, CEO of oobe, a Fujitsu Company.
