Philips APAC welcomes new senior leadership

Health Industry Hub | September 4, 2023 |

MedTech & Diagnostics News: Philips APAC is ushering in a new era of leadership as Peter Quinlan steps into his role as Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Philips APAC. Mr Quinlan assumes the reins from Caroline Clarke, who has been an integral part of Philips since 2008.

Mr Quinlan’s journey with Philips began 16 years ago when he joined the company driven by a profound mission and vision to enhance people’s health and wellbeing through meaningful innovation. In taking on this new role, he expressed his gratitude to Ms Clarke for her exceptional contributions in building Philips APAC into a position of strength.

“I am excited to be given the opportunity to lead such a talented and passionate team who works tirelessly every day to contribute to our healthcare ecosystem with a focus on meaningful innovation and partnership,” Mr Quinlan stated. “I look forward to supporting our teams to continue delivering innovative solutions to help healthcare providers address healthcare challenges and transform patient care and growing our partnerships with customers and stakeholders in APAC.”

Under Mr Quinlan’s leadership, Matt Moran, the Managing Director for Philips Australia and New Zealand, will now report directly to him, marking an important transition in the regional structure.

“Peter has demonstrated great expertise within the health technology field, and we are confident that under his leadership, Philips APAC will continue to go from strength to strength,” said Edwin Paalvast, Chief of International Region and member of the Executive Committee, Royal Philips. “Peter’s passion for first-class healthcare delivery, and for pursuing our purpose of improving people’s health and well-being, make him uniquely qualified to lead our APAC organization into the future.”

Reflecting on the profound impact Philips has had on healthcare communities and patients worldwide, Ms Clarke remarked, “Every once in a while, I pause and reflect on the impact that Philips is creating every day for healthcare communities and patients across the world with our solutions and services. From stroke patients whose data follows their treatment journey all the way to their convalescence at home, lung cancer patients who can now receive one-stop diagnosis and treatment, to doctors who can plan complex procedures before operating on patients – millions of patients and healthcare professionals rely on Philips innovations every day.”

In recent developments, Philips unveiled the APAC findings of the Future Health Index (FHI) 2023 report. This significant milestone follows the successful release of the Australian data by the company. This eighth edition of the report by Philips Healthcare is set to shake up the healthcare landscape as we know it, as it unveils a remarkable shift towards a new model of care delivery that harnesses the power of technology and data to revolutionise patient-centred healthcare.

The medtech company has been actively collaborating with partners across APAC to pioneer new business models and foster long-term strategic partnerships aimed at innovating care delivery. Their initiatives include supporting APAC health systems in the development of smart hospitals that seamlessly integrate people, data, and technology to achieve the industry’s Quadruple Aim: enhancing the patient experience, improving the health of individuals and populations, enhancing the work-life of health professionals, and reducing the per capita cost of healthcare.

The appointment of Peter Quinlan signals an exciting phase for Philips APAC, reaffirming the company’s commitment to advancing healthcare through innovation and collaboration in the region.
