MTAA announces new Board Chair and Vice Chairs

Health Industry Hub | December 10, 2024 |

The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) has appointed Liz Carnabuci, Vice President of Enterprise Accounts & Services, Japan and ANZ, and Vice President of Diabetes for APAC and Greater China at Medtronic, as its new Board Chair.

Jane Crowe, Managing Director of Cardinal Health ANZ, and Warren Bingham, Executive Chairman of OmnisOva and Global Vice President of ARIA Research, have been named new Vice Chairs.

Carnabuci was elected Chair of the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) in December 2022 and became Vice Chair of the Board in November 2023. She assumed the role of Chair in November 2024, following her election at the MTAA 2024 Annual General Meeting.

“It is a privilege to accept this appointment and represent an industry that plays such a crucial role in improving patients’ quality of life. By working closely with the MTAA team, and other industry stakeholders, I am confident that we can offer valuable solutions to the sector’s most pressing issues and meet these challenges head-on,” Carnabuci told Health Industry Hub.

Crowe expressed her enthusiasm for the role of Vice Chair, saying “It is my privilege to serve the medical technology sector, and I am proud to champion the value of medtech – across the rich landscape of medical products, services, and solutions.

“The long-term sustainability of Australia’s healthcare system relies on innovation and access to care, and it is my honour to work with the MTAA Board, Ian Burgess, and the talented MTAA team who are dedicated to this purpose.”

MTAA’s CEO Ian Burgess voiced his appreciation for outgoing Chair Sue Martin, former Managing Director of J&J MedTech, recognising her exceptional contributions. He extended a warm welcome to Carnabuci as the new Chair.

“With her extensive experience, deep industry knowledge, and passion for advancing healthcare, I am confident Liz will guide MTAA into an exciting new chapter. I look forward to working with her to build on our industry’s achievements and continue to deliver better health outcomes for all Australians,” Burgess stated.
