GE HealthCare forges ahead in medtech innovation and precision health post business separation

Health Industry Hub | October 16, 2023 |

MedTech & Diagnostics News: In an interview with Health Industry Hub, Amit Yadav, CEO of GE HealthCare ANZ spotlighted GE Healthcare’s collaboration with Queensland Health for a first-of-its-kind cardiology solution aimed at enhancing efficiency and access to optimal care.

Mr Yadav delved into insights from GE HealthCare’s recent survey of stakeholders revealing that clinicians trust AI for supporting clinical decision-making, while patients express hesitance toward care outside the traditional clinical settings despite the changing landscape driven by hospitals and private insurers.

Addressing the evolving role of digital health, Mr Yadav highlighted AI’s importance in early disease detection, remote monitoring, and the company’s focus on predictive AI that is enhancing patient and family experiences.

Lastly, Mr Yadav expressed excitement about GE Healthcare’s future following the company’s separation of its healthcare business, saying “The separation really solidified the company’s focus and commitment to the future of healthcare innovation. We’re enabling precision health, personalising healthcare technologies and integrating efficiencies into the health system. As a standalone company, we’re better positioned to invest in both organic and inorganic areas to drive growth faster in healthcare.”
