Big win for Zimmer Biomet and Pentax with awards in technology innovation
MedTech News: Trailblazing initiatives in healthcare that made a remarkable impact amidst the COVID-19 disruptions have been recognised at this week’s Asia Pac awards.
Zimmer Biomet’s ROSA HIP with ONE Planner Hip was crowned the Orthopaedic Product Innovation of the Year while PENTAX Medical’s ground-breaking INSPIRA Video Processor won the Endoscopy Product Innovation of the Year at the Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards.
As a personalised robotic system, Zimmer Biomet ROSA HIP enables direct anterior surgeons to evaluate and execute surgical plans based on real-time fluoroscopic feedback of each patient’s unique anatomy, while seamlessly integrating with their surgical workflow. As part of ZBEdge Dynamic Intelligence, the system was developed by surgeons for surgeons as an accurate and efficient surgical assistant that also produces meaningful data.
The ONE Planner Hip is an easy-to-use, pre-operative planner for primary total hip arthroplasty. Using the auto-plan mode, surgeons can create a preoperative plan within 5 minutes from standard x-ray images. ONE Planner Hip features an optional spinopelvic mobility assessment tool if both a sitting and standing lateral x-ray are provided with the AP X-ray. This web-based planner requires no onsite installation, and no extra steps to the workflow.
“It is an honour to have ZBEdge Dynamic Intelligence Suite recognised by Healthcare Asia, marking Zimmer Biomet’s third consecutive year receiving this award,” said Sang Yi, Group President Zimmer Biomet Asia Pacific.
“The aim of robot-assisted surgery is to provide patients with a better experience and outcome. Zimmer Biomet is committed to providing the most comprehensive orthopaedic robotic solutions through a single platform that supports multiple applications. ROSA HIP with ONE Planner Hip is a component of ZBEdge Dynamic Intelligence, which integrates Zimmer Biomet’s digital, robotic, and implant technologies, connecting and collecting objective data throughout the entire episode of care,” Sang Yi added.
PENTAX Medical’s INSPIRA Video Processor was acknowledged for its cutting-edge functionalities that combine innovative functionalities in a plug-and-play solution that is easy to use and control through a customisable touch panel. The customisable graphical user interface helps to focus on what is important: the patient.
The INSPIRA video processor from PENTAX Medical Singapore Pte Ltd delivers optimum image quality, with richly detailed imaging up to 4K resolution, high contrasts using Auto HDR, and state-of-the-art digital enhancement with i-scan, making it possible to achieve superior imaging even with endoscopes from earlier generations, all powered by an energy-efficient LED light source.
