A southern hemisphere first: GE HealthCare partners with radiologists to redefine excellence in medical imaging

Health Industry Hub | August 25, 2025 |

In this Health Industry Hub podcast that bridges clinical insights and technological ambition, Leon Berkovich, CEO of GE HealthCare, and Dr Mansoor Parker, Radiologist and Co-Founder of Quantum Medscan Radiology Group, unpack the breakthrough of the GE Revolution Vibe CT – the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

But this isn’t simply a conversation about a new CT scanner. It’s about the unmet clinical needs that still frustrate radiologists, the gaps in care that patients feel most acutely, and the question of whether innovation alone can transform outcomes without the right policy and reimbursement frameworks in place.

The dialogue ventures into how this technology is reshaping workflows, safety, and opening new possibilities for patients with complex conditions such as arrhythmias and tachycardia -cases that have long challenged imaging specialists. With international guidelines already elevating cardiac CT as a first line investigation in stable chest pain, the discussion also delves into how Australia is aligning – or lagging – behind its international counterparts.

Threaded throughout is a bigger, future-focused question: could technologies like the Revolution Vibe CT become cost-effective and safe enough to be used preventatively in cardiovascular disease screening? And if so, can the healthcare system and required policies evolve quickly enough to support such a paradigm shift?

In reimagining healthcare across the entire patient journey, Health Industry HubTM is the only one-stop-hub uniting the diversity of the Pharma, MedTech, Diagnostics & Biotech sectors to inspire meaningful change.
