‘Feel the fear and do it anyway,’ says Dr Depaz, Sanofi’s Country Medical Lead & MD of Translational Science Hub: IWD 2024
Leadership & Management: In celebration of International Women’s Day 2024, Dr Iris Depaz, Country Medical Lead & Head of Medical, Vaccines, Sanofi ANZ, and Managing Director of the Translational Science Hub in QLD, reflected on her leadership journey and the evolving landscape of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).
In an interview with Health Industry Hub, she emphasised the importance of DE&I in STEM leadership and discussed the social, economic, and business benefits of increased gender diversity in senior leadership roles.
“My advice is to understand your value and don’t let people undervalue you. It is the key to not allowing yourself to be entrapped by imposter syndrome,” she emphasised.
Dr Depaz resonated with the IWD theme Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress and shared insights on balancing influence with authenticity for female leaders. She provided advice for women in the industry and highlighted the most meaningful organisational and government policies in narrowing the gender equity gap.
