AbbVie New Zealand welcomes new leadership amid global moves
Leadership & Management: In line with its global talent development plan, AbbVie has announced a significant change in leadership for its New Zealand operations. Bronwen (Bronnie) Marshall will expand her current role as Business Unit Director, Immunology ANZ, to also take on the position of Country Head, New Zealand.
Marshall, who has been with AbbVie for nearly nine years, will succeed El Hussein (Hussein) Abdellatif.
Abdellatif joined the Australia and New Zealand team in January 2023 as Country Manager, taking over from Kylie Pennington, who had been promoted to an international role. Abdellatif has since been elevated to the position of General Manager for AbbVie Gulf-Levant.
“Bronnie is a talented and engaging leader with a clear passion for building high performance teams and developing people,” said Nathalie McNeil, Vice President and General Manager of AbbVie Australia and New Zealand.
“Bronnie’s promotion, along with Hussein’s, highlight AbbVie’s philosophy of empowering employees to advance their career and achieve their personal goals.”
Marshall brings over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in sales, marketing, and training functions. Her career spans both local and global roles at Genentech, Roche Pharmaceuticals, and Eli Lilly. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology & Biochemistry (Hons.) from the University of Melbourne.
Since joining AbbVie in 2015, Marshall has held several key positions, including Gastroenterology Business Unit Manager, Group Business Unit Manager, Rheumatology, and most recently, Business Unit Director, Immunology ANZ.
