Australian Healthcare Week conference postponed due to coronavirus risk

Health Industry Hub | March 12, 2020 |

Medical News: Despite record numbers of pre-registered attendees and the largest number of confirmed exhibitors in the event’s history, organisers of Australian Healthcare Week 2020, IQPC Australia, have made the difficult decision to reschedule Australian Healthcare Week 2020.

After a careful review of the current situation with COVID-19 and extensive consultation with the Australian Government Department of Health, NSW Health and key event stakeholders – including exhibitors and partners – current guidance on travel and large group gatherings means running the event as planned in March is inadvisable.

As Australia’s largest annual healthcare exhibition, Australian Healthcare Week’s top priority is the wellbeing and safety of its customers, partners and employees. Originally scheduled to run from 25-26 March, the event will now take place on the 30 September – 1 October 2020. The venue, the ICC Sydney, remains unchanged.

Please be advised that existing registrations remain valid and Australian Healthcare Week will work with key stakeholders including exhibitors, partners and sponsors to mitigate inconvenience.

There has never been a more important time for Australia’s healthcare leaders and broader healthcare community to come together to collaborate, discuss and share ideas about how to prepare our hospitals, services and workforce for unforeseen challenges, such as epidemics.

Australian Healthcare Week is proud to provide a platform to facilitate this. Australian Healthcare Week and its partners will continue to work in unison and supporting each other for other healthcare week events in 2020 and future editions.
