Finalists announced for Australian HR Awards: Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Hologic, Edwards Lifesciences and iNova

Health Industry Hub | June 28, 2022 |

Human Resources: Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, Hologic, Edwards Lifesciences and iNova Pharmaceuticals have been shortlisted as an Excellence Awardee in the prestigious annual Australian HR Awards. The awards showcase the country’s most outstanding HR teams, leaders and employers for their strategies, achievements, and programs over the past year.

Eli Lilly is a finalist, for the second year running, in the Employer of Choice Award (100-999 employees) category. This award recognises the best organisation to work for in Australia with 100-999 employees and will be judged on leadership, engagement, communication, and employee benefits.

“Our people are the ultimate source of the value we bring to patients. We actively cultivate a culture of teamwork and inclusion, so everyone can bring their authentic self, diverse ideas, perspectives, and experiences in the pursuit of our purpose – to make life better,” said Lilly ANZ General Manager, Benjamin Basil.

“Being recognised for a second year in a row is a proud moment for Lilly and reinforces our commitment to investing in our employees through competitive salaries, development and training, generous benefits, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the world.”

Lilly’s submission showcased its strong Engagement Survey results, employee recognition and benefits, future-of-work model – ‘Lilly@Work’ – and their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. A key achievement was their consultative approach to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, which resulted in 100% compliance and employee retention.

“At Lilly we keep a continuous improvement mindset to always build on our HR programs, keeping what is most important at its centre – our employees,” Mr Basil said.

Ryan Hannelly, Head of HR Johnson & Johnson MedTech and OneHR, told Health Industry Hub “This nomination marks the third consecutive year that J&J has been recognised as a finalist for the HR Awards, and we’re honoured to be in the running for Employer of Choice.

“Johnson & Johnson’s Credo represents our pledge to the patients, doctors, nurses, families and communities that we touch every day through the unwavering commitment of our employees. It is also the inspiration behind our drive to ensure those same employees are supported by an environment of inclusion, innovation, connection and quality leadership.

“J&J prides itself on the investments we make in continuous learning and development for all team members, including our People Leader Rhythm that centres on leadership capabilities, ethics leadership and inclusion; while maintaining our focus on the physical and mental wellbeing of our team, through flexible work arrangements, employee assistance programs, and exercise reimbursement.”

In 2021, Johnson & Johnson was the only healthcare company to secure an award. The company was recognised for the Best Leadership Development Program.

This year, winners will be selected from the Excellence Awardees at the in-person gala on September 9, 2022.
