Baxter Australia secures approval of sealing haemostat
MedTech News: Baxter, a global leader in advanced surgical innovation, announced the launch of HEMOPATCH Sealing Haemostat in Australia following Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Approval.
HEMOPATCH is a surgical patch that is clinically proven to prevent leaks and stop bleeds and is indicated as a haemostatic device and surgical sealant for procedures in which control of bleeding or leakage of other body fluids by conventional surgical techniques is either ineffective or impractical.
The launch of HEMOPATCH in Australia builds on Baxter’s 20 years of expertise in haemostasis including innovative surgical tools and programs to help improve clinical outcomes. In multiple surgical specialties, HEMOPATCH demonstrated greater clinical effectiveness and versatility compared to other standard therapies, resulting in improved clinical and resource utilisation outcomes in hospitals.
Baxter Healthcare, Director of Advanced Surgery for Australia & New Zealand, Jim Giannopoulos, said Baxter was committed to partnering with clinicians to make a meaningful impact on patient care in operating rooms.

The launch of HEMOPATCH in Australia follows the release of the Validated Intraoperative Bleeding Scale (VIBe SCALE) and cost-consequences analysis of a haemostatic matrices.
