Viatris and Sandoz partner with EBOS Group in supply of generic medicines

Health Industry Hub | March 4, 2022 |

Pharma News: Viatris and Sandoz, a Novartis division, have entered into an agreement with the EBOS Group to provide a secure supply of high-quality generic medicines to stores nationally.

Sylvain Vigneault, Viatris Country Manager of Australia, said “We’re pleased to further strengthen our partnership with EBOS Group to now also include TerryWhite Chemmart, and Symbion pharmacy brands, Pharmacy Choice and healthSAVE. All of these community pharmacies share our mission of providing access to high quality and affordable medicines so Australians can live healthier lives.

“Through our local manufacturing and distribution facilities in Queensland, Viatris is well positioned to bring medicines to Australians when and where they need them.”

This announcement follows the news in November 2021 that Viatris and Pharmacy Essentials Group will continue to work together, for the eighth consecutive year, securing the supply chain of independent pharmacies through local manufacturing.

Guy Strong, Country Head of Sandoz ANZ, said “Sandoz has an industry leading biosimilar portfolio with 6 marketed biosimilars and the most registered biosimilars of any company in Australia. Additionally Sandoz has a globally leading pipeline of biosimilars, with 15+ new biosimilars in our development pipeline over the next 5 years.

“Driven by our in-house manufacturing capability, significant volumes globally and in Australia, Sandoz is well positioned to ensure continuity of supply for all Sandoz customers.”

TerryWhite Chemmart welcomed 43 new pharmacies to their network last year and with over 480 stores, they are Australia’s largest health-advice orientated community pharmacy network. Pharmacy Choice currently has more than 700 members Australia wide and healthSAVE has over 75 stores nationally.

The agreements with Pharmacy Choice and healthSAVE pharmacy brands commence on 1 April 2022 and the agreement with the TerryWhite Chemmart pharmacy brand commences on 2 July 2022.
