Biogen and AZ see changes in leadership teams

Health Industry Hub | February 1, 2022 |

Pharma News: Biogen ANZ has appointed three new members to its leadership team while Liz Chatwin, Country President for AstraZeneca in Australia and New Zealand, will take up a new role within the organisation as Oncology Business Unit Global Franchise Head, Enhertu and Breast Cancer in the US.

As Biogen looks ahead to a transformative year for the business, Paul Beckett joins the company as Head of Finance, Lucas Tocchini as Head of Market Access and Lindsay Grant has been promoted to Head of Medical.

“We are delighted to begin the new year with these critical appointments” commented Kylie Bromley, Managing Director Biogen ANZ.

“Biogen is expanding its areas of therapeutic focus within our framework as pioneers in neuroscience and tackling some of the most complex and devastating medical and clinical challenges that exist.

“To achieve this, we need people with the passion to succeed and the brightest minds to deliver the outcomes the business needs and society demands; and we have this and more with our talented employees, led by our outstanding leadership team of which Paul, Lucas and Lindsay are now members.”

Liz’s leadership as Country President at AstraZeneca and recent experience supporting the Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has prepared her well for this next challenge. Liz has a stellar record of building strong, empowered cross-functional teams and over her four years as Country President, has delivered solid and consistent business growth, establishing AstraZeneca as the fastest-growing company among the top 10 pharma in Australia.

A truly innovative and strategic collaborator, Liz has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders throughout her flourishing career, including the recent successful partnership with CSL to manufacture our COVID-19 vaccine, Vaxzevria, locally. Liz has also served as deputy chair on the Medicines Australia board.

This new role is effective from 1 March and will be based in Gaithersburg, MD. Liz will relocate to the United States shortly.
