Best Practice
Multiply your time with significance
“How is it that we have more tips, tricks, tools, technology, calendars and checklists than ever before, and yet we still always seem to be behind?” asks Rory Vaden, a leadership consultant and author of Take The Stairs.
“It’s because everything you know about time management is wrong.”
Most of us manage our time by writing to-do lists and prioritising the items on those lists. We decide our priorities by assessing the urgency and importance of our tasks.
There is now a third criteria considered by “time multipliers” – significance. Rather than asking ‘What’s the most important thing I can do today’, time multipliers ask ‘What’s the most important thing I can do today that would make tomorrow better?’
Rory Vaden has dedicated his entire life to the study of leadership and influence. His education and experience took him all the way from being raised by a single mother in a trailer park to becoming a New York Times bestselling author, a world renowned Hall of Fame keynote speaker, and an Eight-Figure entrepreneur.
He has developed dozens of insights, frameworks and methodologies that led to a viral Ted talk and have been used by some of the most successful organisations in the world to mobilise their sales forces, develop their leaders and move their people into action.
