Leadership transition at Chiesi Australia as Micevski succeeds McGregor as GM

Chiesi Australia’s General Manager, Melissa McGregor, will leave the company at the end of July to focus on the health and wellbeing of herself and her family, and to permanently return to Brisbane. Senior Director of Business Unit AIR and Care Billy Micevski will succeed McGregor as General Manager, taking the helm following her departure.

The company said McGregor made a significant contribution to the growth of the Australian affiliate and its culture.

“It has been a privilege to lead Chiesi Australia and work alongside such a passionate and purpose- driven team. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together and grateful for the support and collaboration of so many colleagues,” said McGregor, reflecting on her time leading Chiesi Australia. “I am also delighted to congratulate Billy Micevski on his appointment as General Manager. Having worked closely with him over the years, I have every confidence in his leadership and in the organisation’s future. I look forward to seeing Chiesi Australia continue to thrive under his leadership and the impact it will continue to have for Australian patients.”

Raised in the regional town of Mildura, McGregor pivoted from her family’s agricultural roots to build a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the healthcare sector. She is widely recognised for her 20-year tenure at Pfizer, where she rose through the ranks to become the Managing Director for the ANZ affiliate before taking on a prominent European VP leadership role. In 2024, she returned to Australia to head Chiesi’s operations and has been a powerful voice for the pharma industry, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Medicines Australia.
